We are looking for a NPD Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Support individual NPI/NPD development projects and coordinate activities with product engineers.
• Support engineering product design and release.
• Redesigning existing products to help achieve material cost savings and improve manufacturing efficiency.
• Support existing product design changes for product renovation initiatives.
• Help support future innovation / renovation initiatives.
• Engage with team on ideas for continuous improvement in the overall engineering and design process.
• Learn & become very knowledgeable on manufacturing capabilities and standard materials used in Offroad/Vehicle/Harnesses products.
• Responsible for executing the setup/update activities related to Design Engineering for all those part numbers released in the organization under Product Engineer supervision.
• Such activities include creation and update of BOM’s, Drawings, 3D modeling components and assemblies.
• Responsible to provide support on prototype and/or pre-production samples based on input from: Product Line Manager, Product Development Engineer, NPI Engineer.

Education / Qualifications / Experience

• Degree in engineering (preferred) or technical field
• 3+ years (or more) of experience in product development, 3D CAD modeling and 2D print detailing preferably using some designs software.
• Experience in design of automotive EC components and products preferred.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles, practices, and processes.
• Strong written and oral communications skills to include presentation skills.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information with all levels of employees and groups.
• Knowledge of GD&T, PPAP, APQP, SPC, and failure analysis a plus
• Analytical trouble shooting and problem solving.
• Excellent computer skills to include knowledge of MS Office, SAP, Catia or other CAD software.
• Analytical abilities necessary to plan and prioritize own work, complete work on schedule and maintain required records and logs.
• Ability to communicate (written and verbally) in English
