Job Summary

The Automation Engineer Tech – ASRS/AMR is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of automated material handling systems including ASRS (Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems) and AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots). The role ensures high system uptime, supports production flow, and performs preventive and corrective maintenance in a highly automated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and support daily operation of ASRS and AMR systems to ensure efficient material flow and uptime
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on cranes, conveyors, shuttles, lifts, and AMRs/AGVs
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues including PLCs (Allen-Bradley / Siemens), sensors, motors, drives, and industrial communication systems
• Respond to system alarms and downtime events to restore operations quickly
• Support installation, commissioning, and integration of automation systems with WMS/WCS platforms
• Collaborate with Engineering, IT, Operations, and vendors for issue resolution and system upgrades
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain maintenance logs, SOPs, and compliance documentation

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience in industrial automation or material handling systems
• Hands-on experience with ASRS systems and AMRs/AGVs
• Strong PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley / Siemens preferred)
• Good understanding of electrical systems (24VDC, 480VAC), sensors, actuators, motors, and drives
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Experience with conveyors, automation controls, and industrial communication systems

Preferred Skills

• Experience with WMS/WCS integration
• Familiarity with RFID, barcode scanning, and vision systems
• Basic PLC/HMI troubleshooting or programming
• Experience in high-volume or regulated manufacturing environments
