In México, the Empresa is now strengthening its commercial trading and distribution network for specialty steel products, working closely with local market participants across the steel value chain.

About the Role

We are looking for experienced steel trading professionals in México to join the Empresa’s growing specialty steel business. The ideal candidate comes from a steel trading Empresa, distributor, or steel service center, and has direct access to customers and active trading experience in the Mexican steel market. This role requires strong commercial instincts, pricing awareness, and the ability to operate in a fast-moving trading environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow specialty steel sales through traders, distributors, and steel service centers in México
  • Manage spot and contract-based trading opportunities in steel products
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with steel market players, including distributors, stockists, and service centers
  • Identify market opportunities, pricing trends, and supply-demand dynamics in the Mexican steel market
  • Execute commercial negotiations including pricing, margins, payment terms, and delivery coordination
  • Develop new customer channels and expand existing trading networks
  • Work closely with China headquarters and local team to execute trading strategy

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in steel trading companies, steel distributors, or steel service centers
  • Strong understanding of steel trading flows, pricing mechanisms, and customer distribution networks
  • Proven ability to manage and develop B2B steel customers independently
  • Existing customer portfolio in the México steel market is strongly preferred
  • Experience in coils, sheets, flat steel, tinplate, or stainless steel products is highly preferred
  • Strong commercial negotiation and deal closing capability
  • Spanish required; English preferred for international communication
  • Experience working in import/export or cross-border steel trading is a plus

Preferred Profile

  • Steel traders / commercial managers from distributors or service centers
  • Professionals with active customer base in:
  • Steel distributors / stockists
  • Metal packaging industry
  • Industrial manufacturing buyers
  • Coil / sheet / flat steel users
  • Candidates who understand margin, turnover, inventory and trading cycles

Important Note

This role is specifically designed for professionals with steel trading or distribution background. Candidates from pure industrial OEM sales, EPC/project sales, or non-steel industries are unlikely to be a fit.
