Job Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records in QuickBooks for four separate legal entities, including one nonprofit organization. This role manages day‑to‑day accounting, ensures proper segregation of activity by entity, performs financial analysis, prepares management reporting, and supports compliance, audits, and decision‑making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting
- Maintain complete and accurate accounting records in QuickBooks for four distinct legal entities, ensuring proper entity, class, and fund segregation.
- Record daily financial transactions including bank activity, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and interEmpresa activity.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts for each entity.
Banking & Reconciliations
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations for all entities.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain appropriate documentation for all cash transactions.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process vendor bills, payments, and employee reimbursements.
- Create and record customer invoices, receipts, and deposits.
- Monitor receivable balances and follow up on outstanding amounts as needed.
InterEmpresa Accounting
- Record, track, and reconcile interEmpresa transactions and balances among the entities.
- Ensure interEmpresa activity is properly documented and eliminated as required for reporting purposes.
Nonprofit Accounting
- Maintain nonprofit financial records in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Track restricted and unrestricted funds, grants, and donations.
- Ensure accurate expense classification by program, administrative, and fundraising categories.
- Assist with reporting for nonprofit leadership, grantors, and regulatory requirements.
Month‑End Close
- Perform monthly and year‑end close activities for all entities.
- Prepare and review balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate close with appropriate reconciliations and documentation.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare financial reports and management summaries for each legal entity.
- Analyze monthly financial results, identify trends, and explain variances versus budget, prior periods, or expectations.
- Develop entity‑level and consolidated reporting to support leadership decision‑making.
- Provide cash flow analysis and forecasting support as requested.
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning activities across entities.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and applicable regulations.
- Maintain organized financial records to support audits, reviews, and tax filings.
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax preparers.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and system efficiency within QuickBooks.
- Help standardize accounting practices and reporting across all entities.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of accounting experience
- Experience managing multiple legal entities
- Strong hands‑on experience with QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop)
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
- Experience with nonprofit accounting and fund tracking
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple entities and deadlines simultaneously
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
Salary: $50,000
Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm HomeOffice
