Financial Analysts are considered to be trusted business advisors, working within IBM’s business units and geographies, as well as in a myriad of specialized corporate functions. IBM's finance organization is instrumental in driving innovative improvements to global financial processes while providing measurable value to the business. The analyst role is responsible for the analysis of the IBM forecast, budget, actuals, and business dynamics. The analyst is responsible for interacting with the business units and geographies on the forecast, actuals, budget and business metrics. The analyst is responsible for the development of forecast and budget variance analysis and provides business assessments on an ongoing basis. The analyst designs, prepares, and presents detailed analysis of business issues and recommended solutions to senior management. The employee focuses on individual/team/department/ operational objectives. **Your Role and Responsibilities** - Analyze financial data by collecting, monitoring, and creating financial models - Identify opportunities to maximize revenue and profit - Contract forecasting and budgeting (revenue and cost) - Variance analysis of actuals vs forecast, forecast vs plan etc - Understand the existing workflow and explore possibilities of process improvements - Make financial presentations to business and finance executives AmericasQ2C **Required Technical and Professional Expertise** What do you need? - Advanced Excel: the know-how of dynamic tables, pivot tables, V-lookups and so on... - Basic financial analysis knowledge: Statements analysis, expense/cost reports, financial forecast, etc. - Fluent English - Data analysis Skills: Challenge the validity of given procedures and processes to enhance and improve or develop complementary adjustments /solutions - Good Communication/Negotiation skills: Engaged as an independent professional. Ability to articulate and compare alternative approaches and negotiate with specified objectives. - Problem Solving: Recognize problems related to project objectives. Creativity and judgment applied to professional technical, or operational problems. Independently generates solutions, based on analytical skills & business knowledge. - Contribution/Leadership Skills: Works on projects or manages routine technical/ operational activities. Understands departmental mission and vision. Provides advice in technical/operational domain of specialization.
